Rainwater Madeira was named after the legend that a barrel of Madeira wine was left on a dock in a port on the East of the United States and after days of heavy rainfall the wine had been diluted with rainwater. Rather than discard the wine, the merchant sold if off as new, lighter style of wine, gaining much popularity. A medium dry Madeira with nutty aromas and a firm acidity that is best served chilled as an aperitif.
