The Madeira wine has been crafted from the vulcanic, sub-tropical Portuguese island named Madeira, located some 400 miles off the Northwest African coast. The Blandy´s are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their wine company, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.
Blandy´s Verdelho 5 years is a medium dry wine, produced with Verdelho variety, that is amongst the white varietals, the most widely spead, the vast majority of the vineyards being on the North around Porto Moniz and São Vicent. Matured at the Blandy´s Wine Lodges in the center of Funchal, this Verdelho has a fresh and fragrant bouquet of dried fruits and spice with luxurious warm orangey aromas. Concentrated and fresh with pleasant zesty bittersweet edge from a finely balanced acidity. A perfect accompaniment with soups, oysters, feathered game and patês.
