Description

Founded in 1888 on the shores of the Seto interior sea in the city of Akashi, the Eigashima distillery is one of the oldest Sake producers (1679). In 1919, Eigashima was the first Japanese distillery to ever obtain its licence to produce whisky. Whisky consumption was entirely local until 1984. Built on the Scottish model, the distillery has been making sophisticated whiskies in small batches for more than 30 years.

Rich and well-balanced, this whisky contains 30% of malted barley and is aged 3 years in American oak casks.
