Description

Quinta do Monte Xisto is made with grapes from our best plots, some exposed to the north and others to the south, seeking to find the balance between structure/body and elegance/acidity. The blend it’s composed by Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Sousão.

The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the cellar in 20 kg boxes. They are vinified in “lagares” with foot treading. Fermentation takes place over about 6 days in the “lagar” with indigenous yeasts. This is followed by an 18 month stage in 2000 and 600 liter barrels.

O aroma mostra-se como um vinho clássico lembrando um vintage. Firme e profundo, denuncia longevidade com uma carga de aromas tais como esteva, alfazema, rosmaninho, eucalipto e muitos outros que se evidenciam ao longo do arejamento, demonstrando uma grande complexidade. Mostra um notável equilíbrio entre volume e fruto, com um final elegante, longo e persistente. Por estas características é um vinho que dá prazer beber novo e na sua evolução ao longo dos anos.
