Description

The Roquette & Cazes 2022 represents the perfect alliance between the Douro Valley and Bordeaux winemaking expertise. Crafted from the emblematic Portuguese grape varieties Touriga Nacional (60%), Touriga Franca (25%), and Tinta Roriz (15%), this wine reflects precision, elegance, and regional authenticity.

All grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted upon arrival at the winery. After destemming and gentle crushing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tronconic vats. During fermentation, the French technique of deléstage is employed to enhance skin contact and achieve refined extraction. A post-fermentation maceration — widely practiced in Bordeaux — follows, ensuring a smooth texture and polished tannin structure. The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, adding depth, complexity, and sophistication.
