Description

Kavalan Concertmaster Port Cask Finish is a Taiwanese Single Malt Whisky, 70 cl, initially matured in American oak casks and then finished in Portuguese Ruby Port wine barriques. This double maturation gives the whisky added smoothness, richness and complexity, combining the character of single malt with the natural sweetness and fruity notes imparted by the Port casks.

Nota de Prova

Colour: Brownish red.

Nose: Tropical fruitiness with notes of honey, vanilla, coconut and candy floss.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with natural sweetness and a balanced combination of fruit, vanilla and sweet notes from the Port cask finish.

Finish: Smooth, lingering and delicately sweet, with fruit and oak notes remaining on the palate.

Suggestions

Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to further reveal its complexity. Its natural sweetness and fruity character pair particularly well with dark chocolate, chocolate-based desserts and nuts. It can also be used in richer, structured whisky cocktails, where the Port cask finish adds depth and a fruity dimension.
