Description

Uncle Nearest 1856 is an award-winning American whiskey bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), combining smoothness and complexity in a blend of aged whiskeys. It was the first release from the Uncle Nearest brand, created in honour of Nearest Green, recognised as the first known African American master distiller. On the nose, buttery vanilla and brown sugar stand out, accompanied by soft sultana notes and a hint of cinnamon. The palate reveals flavours of caramelised nuts, oat cookies, brown sugar and sandalwood, with hints of corn and freshly cut grass. The lingering finish combines notes of mint leaf, milk chocolate and oak spice.
